How to Feel Better: Let the Bad Stuff Be

When I'm not feeling my best, it's usually because I'm paying attention to something I don't like (otherwise known as "the bad stuff").

I've made how to feel better a priority in my life and these are the two things I turn to the most often.

What helps me is to remember:

  • To leave the bad stuff over to the side
  • And that I don't actually know if it's bad or not

Leave the bad stuff over to the side...

First off, if it's got me in a less than resourceful frame of mind, it's not helping me.

My best solutions rarely come when I'm not feeling great...

Or focusing on what's not working.

Usually, my best ideas come when I'm relaxed.

Like when I'm doing something that will result in what I want...

And when I'm OK with whatever the result may actually be because I know that I can handle it....

I'm relaxed...

I've handled quite a lot in my life already, so it stands to reason that I can handle a lot more than I realize.

Remember to give yourself credit for everything that you have already accomplished...

You've accomplished much more than you give yourself credit for.

Considering different points of view can make a huge difference...

Which leads me to...

Remember that I don't actually know if it's bad or not...

I'm not privy to all the information I would need to accurately label something bad or good.

Just because I've made that assumption doesn't mean that I have all the facts (past, present, or future)...

And sometimes, I just need to remember that I don't know everything.

And while we're on the subject of How to Feel Better...

If you've got a question or something to say about "How to Feel Better" or anything else, you can talk about it here...

Or just read what everyone else has said...

Or you can introduce yourself to the Thought Detective community!

And tell us a little bit about you, where you are living, how you got there or anything you'd like to tell us about yourself here...

Looking forward to hearing from you...

Suzanne
